Subject	Fuel Pump is Dead Again (93 TT)

Message	About 3 months back my Z suddenly would crank but not start. I replaced the fuel pump with a new OEM one and the car ran fine. Today I was idle in a lot when the car sputtered and died. When I tried to start again it had erratic idle and when I pressed the gas it would die. After a few more times of doing this it wont turn over at all. Fusible link good. Bypassed FPCU. Pump relay is clicking. Pulled the hose on engine side of fuel filter and no fuel came out. Pulled line on the pump side of and some fuel spilled out of the filter, but not out of the line. No vibration from pump while cranking. What could cause this?
